Job Description

Anticipated Salary: $58,000-$65,000

The Blended Learning Center Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations, programming, and overall success of the Blended Learning Center. This role provides leadership and supervision to the Blended Learning Center Coordinators across the state while ensuring a high-quality learning environment for students. The manager will oversee space utilization, program development, student engagement, and community partnerships, ensuring that the center operates efficiently and effectively supports blended learning initiatives. The Manager also partners with The Heron Foundation to make connections in the community to facilitate programming and resources for students.

Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise the Blended Learning Center Coordinators, providing guidance, training, and performance management.

  • Oversee day-to-day center operations, ensuring a welcoming and well-managed environment for students and staff.

  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for efficient center operations.

Program Development & Student Engagement

  • Plan and oversee onsite programming, working closely with educators, students, and partners to create meaningful learning and social experiences.

  • Support the organization of offsite student outings, ensuring safety, logistics, and educational value.

  • Monitor student participation and engagement, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation in blended learning.

Facility & Space Management

  • Oversee the scheduling and utilization of the center’s spaces, ensuring efficient use for classes, meetings, and events.

  • Coordinate with Operations  teams to maintain a fully functional learning environment, including technology and equipment needs.

Community & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the center and external stakeholders, including community partners, vendors, and educational institutions.

  • Represent the center in meetings, outreach events, and collaborations with local organizations.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive culture within the center that aligns with the organization’s mission and values.

Administrative & Budget Oversight

  • Monitor the center’s budget in conjunction with Finance, including expense tracking, purchasing, and financial reporting.

  • Oversee office management functions, ensuring smooth administrative operations.

  • Maintain records, generate reports, and analyze data to support decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.

Required Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree or higher

  • 3+ years of experience in program management, educational administration, or a similar leadership role OR

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience supervising staff and leading teams in an educational or nonprofit setting.

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, staff, and community stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and scheduling systems.

  • Ability to work independently while fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

  • Ability to travel frequently, up to once per week, to sites across the state

  • Ability to clear required background check.

  • Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for special events, student outings, or stakeholder meetings.

Preferred Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Human Services or related field of study

  • Three (3) years of experience working with families in a similar capacity, developing parent mentors/parent training, and/or facilitating community involvement

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has 1-4 direct reports. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Location

All staff must reside in the state of South Carolina or within 45 miles of the border.

This position is onsite in Greenville, SC with the following travel expectations:

  • Attend local student outing 1-2 times per semester

  • Attend in-person professional development 1-3 times per semester

  • Attend back-to-school professional development in July (1-3 consecutive days)

  • Participate in in-person student testing 

  • Travel as needed to meet with community partners as part of the center’s programming

  • Travel across the state periodically as additional centers are opened to oversee operations

  • Additional details on travel will be provided in the interview process

This is a full-time position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 8-4 or as defined by the school.
