Job Description

Anticipated Salary: $42,000-$48,000. This is a non-exempt position.

 

Time Off Plan: 10 days of PTO, 4 weeks of summer break, all teacher/counselor holidays

 

The Student Resource Generalist will explore and catalog resources specific to the geographic area of the site, as well as develop a portfolio of regional and statewide resources of benefit to students and families. The Student Resource Generalist will receive and address student and family referrals from the Student Support Supervisor, Student Resource Coordinator, and Blended Learning Manager and Advisor. The Student Resource Generalist will work with students and families both virtually and in-person at the Blended Learning site to assist with their specific needs. The ideal candidate for this position would have a passion for helping students and families.

       Maintains caseload of students/families referred for additional support; 

       Facilitates family intervention meetings with families in crisis or with multidimensional needs; 

       Follows up with families by phone or in-person, coordinates with external agencies (e.g. SCYAP, community service agencies, etc.) as needed; 

       Facilitates social-emotional learning programming, small groups with students; 

       Maintains an active role and awareness of local community resources within school boundaries, through research, attending local meetings and/or networking events;

       Participates and contributes to Student Resource Team special projects and initiatives;

       Arranges support conferences as needed to address social-emotional wellness concerns;

       Assists students in creating plans to access resources;

       May assist with the onboarding process for assigned students;

       Provides a reactive response to students who reach out for support;

       Provides ongoing re-registration support;

       Initiates meaningful contact by phone with students and their Learning Coach;

       Participate in the live onsite orientation sessions;

       Serves as a liaison between students and/or Learning Coaches and teachers and/or administration;

       Identifies school programs, resources, assistance to help each family make the most of what the schools have to offer;

       Assists with executing blended learning programming;

       Increases professional knowledge and skills by attending required staff meetings; participating in school and K12 sponsored Professional Development and seeking other professional learning opportunities.

 

 

Required Education and Experience

       Two (2) years of college

       Two (2) years of experience in education OR equivalent combination of education and related experience

       Strong written and verbal communication skills;

       Excellent problem-solving skills;

       Organizational skills, multi-tasking abilities;

       Customer service focus;

       Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced work environment;

       Experience coordinating academically-oriented clubs and extracurricular activities;

       Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); Web proficiency;

       Familiarity with the online learning experience;

       Ability to travel 25% of the time; 

       Ability to pass required background check.

 

 

Preferred Education and/or Experience

       Experience working with the proposed age group;

       Experience supporting adults and children in learning and the use of technology;

       An ability to learn new technology tools quickly (e.g. database and web-based tools).

Location

All staff must reside in the state of South Carolina.

 

This position is onsite full-time in Greenville, SC with the following travel expectations:

       Attend local student outing 1-2 times per semester

       Attend in-person professional development 1-3 times per semester

       Attend back-to-school professional development in July (1-3 consecutive days)

       Participate in in-person student testing

       Additional details on travel will be provided in the interview process
